  • Single molecule-based fluorescence spectroscopic studies of the conformational dynamics of FoF1 ATP synthases from E. coli (biological nanomotor), ps time-resolved single-molecule FRET microscopy
  • FLIM, ABELtrap, superresolution microscopy, black-lipid-membranes, hidden Markov models
  • Conformational dynamics of individual membrane-bound transport ATPases (Pgp, KdpFABC, V-ATPase, A-ATP synthase), anisotropy microscopy, fluorescence correlation spectroscopy
  • Ultrasensitive evidence for biochemical polymer degradation (nanocellulose)
  • Local redox chemistry on nanoelectrodes (pH gradient for driving the ATP synthases), patch-clamp methods
  • Fluorescence spectroscopic investigations of individual polymers (DNA block copolymers, poly-Bodipy dyes) and ultrastable perylenes
